Onions

The Market at SECOM has a few varieties of dried onions that we carry year round. Those varieties include sweet yellow, red and shallots. We do carry other varieties through out the year as well. Yellow onions pack a strong onion flavor, and are the best all around cooking onion. They are great for roasts, with meats, in sauces and stewed. Red onions are slightly milder than yellow onions and are the best for eating raw. They are also great in guacamole, salads, pickled, and on sandwiches. Shallots are an even milder and more subtle onion. They are great for vinaigrettes, casseroles and as a garnish.
